Webinar: Promoting sustainable coffee development, reducing emissions, meeting EUDR – Nestlé Vietnam's regenerative agriculture model

Currently, Nescafé Plan Vietnam collaborates with 23,000 farming households to create sustainable raw material areas, with plans to expand to 26,000 farming households and having collected over 40,000 polygons of household cultivated plots by the end of 2026 to meet EUDR requirements. At the household level, Nescafé Plan Vietnam promotes regenerative agriculture practices, including activities such as soil conservation (limiting tillage, maintaining ground cover, increasing organic fertilizer, nutrient management), reducing irrigation water, and enhancing biodiversity (planting shade trees, appropriate intercropping), as well as measuring greenhouse gas emissions at the household level… all aimed at reducing emissions from cultivation and land use.

Building a production area dataset for management and EUDR compliance: A bottom-up approach

In the context of globalization, product traceability is strongly transforming from an encouraged criterion to a mandatory requirement in Vietnam's major export markets (typified by the EU Deforestation Regulation - EUDR of the European Union). Anticipating this trend, the Vietnamese Government has also begun to require businesses to implement strict traceability for high-risk product categories.
