Vietnam has more than 10 million hectares of natural forests, most of which range from average to poor quality and many areas still facing risks of deforestation and forest degradation. This is both challenges and opportunities for developing forest-carbon projects, particularly REDD+ and natural forest restoration (ARR), when forest protection, forest restoration, and community livelihoods are effectively combined. Beyond carbon value, natural forests play an important role in biodiversity conservation and are closely tied to the livelihood and cultural activities of forest-adjacent communities. Therefore, a natural-forest carbon project not only focuses on carbon but also brings a range of co-benefits related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihood development. The Webinar "Developing Carbon Projects from Forest Restoration Linked to Sustainable Livelihood Development: Insights from a WWF project implemented in Da Nang City" will introduce a concrete initiative on developing a natural-forest carbon project associated with livelihood development carried out by WWF. The speakers will share:
